PAL Day at City Hall Presented by Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association

On March 12, 15 teens from the Police Athletic League were sworn in as city officials for the day during PAL Day at City Hall presented by Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association. During the event, PAL kids shadowed city officials and learned how the Philadelphia government operates. 

Officers from PAL’s 15 centers selected students as representatives based on the teens’ participation in PAL and their academic and extracurricular achievements in the community. Before being paired with a city official, the PAL kids went through a rigorous interview process designed to match them with the office that best compliments their future interests.  

After the ceremony, the PAL teens engaged with City officials, engaging in experiences as diverse as patrolling the Delaware River Philadelphia Fire Department Marine Unit to being interviewed for television news and even having their own office space for a day.

Toyota generously donated $25,000 to support this once in a lifetime experience for Philadelphia youth.
